Music Booster Meeting!

Wednesday 4/30/2013 at 6:30pm., IHS Media Center

Wednesday's meeting is in the media center. The meeting features Music Department reports including the music awards banquet, spring concert, senior awards night, memorial day, commencement, uniforms, and fall football schedule. In addition, the music department calendar will be reviewed and reports from chairpersons will be heard. All band and vocal parents are invited and your participation is encouraged.

Volunteer Hours For Graduation

The Independence Kiwanis organization is a huge supporter of the IHS Music Department. Please give back to them by volunteering and getting your graduation requirements out of the way!

  • May 18, 2013 (from 8:00 am to noon) at Chicken BBQ entails Set Up and Light and Medium Work
  • May 19, 2013 (from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm) at Chicken BBQ entails working the Event and Heavy to Light Work

We especially need students on Saturday morning and after 1:00 pm on Sunday for clean up! Please see Mr. Wells if you are interested or contact deborahnicastro@hotmail.com

Enrichment Grant is Part of Our Mission

The ongoing mission of the music boosters is to foster and encourage student development in the musical arts. Throughout the year the music boosters raise money to provide funds used to purchase instruments, equipment and uniforms. Booster volunteers provide hospitality for both the IHS and visiting bands at football halftime, and also assist with set design/construction and costume design/creation for the madrigal and drama productions. The Music Boosters also offer a musical enrichment grant for eligible students.
